Lal Maas

 

Ingredients

: 200 gm corn oil
2 tsp chopped garlic
1 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
5 green crushed cardamoms
5 black crushed cardamoms
7-8 Whole red chillies
200 gm chopped onions
1/2 kg mutton
2 tsp red chilli powder
2 tsp coriander powder
2 tsp salt
200 gm beaten yoghurt
water

Method:

 Heat oil in pan. Add chopped garlic, cumin seeds, green and black cardamoms, and whole red chillies. Saute the cumin seeds till they start crackling. Then add onions and saute them till golden brown.
Now add the mutton and cook on high flame to seal the juices and keep the flavour intact. Then add red chilli powder, coriander powder, salt, yoghurt and water. Bring the preparation to a boil.
Cover the pan and cook the preparation for 45 minutes on low flame. Lal maas is ready. Serve hot with makkai or missi roti.
